India is Bangladesh’s biggest trade partner in South Asia and Bangladesh is India’s biggest trading partner in the subcontinent. The total bilateral trade between the two nations stood at $9.5 billion in 2019-20 and grew at an unprecedented rate of almost 44% from $10.78 billion in 2020-21 to $18.13 billion in 2021-22. India’s exports to Bangladesh account for more than 85% of the total bilateral trade.
The two countries hope to make joint efforts to improve economic, financial, trade, transport and communication areas through peace and harmony.
